If you are buying a yoyo, don't forget to buy a yo-yo trick book to carry with you, a yoyo trick DVD for at home, and extra yoyo strings Learning new tricks makes yoyoing much more fun, and you'll need extra strings, because they wear out with regular use.
The original take-apart yo-yo! Invented in the mid 1970’s, this incredible invention was the first of many to come from the mind of Dr. Tom Kuhn, a San Francisco dentist. His ingenuity in the design of this and many other models has led to his recognition as the "father of the modern yo-yo."
The No Jive 3-IN-1 wooden yoyo features a fixed, birch axle sleeve surrounding a steel rod that connects the two halves of the yo-yo. Because of the steel axle support, a No Jive axle sleeve is slightly narrower in diameter than that of a normal yo-yo axle. This decrease in surface area creates less friction and allows for a longer duration of spin. The yo-yo can be unscrewed to gain easy access to internal knots, or for re-assembly in any of its three configurations.
The yoyo is packaged and decorated as a conventionally shaped yo-yo, but with some quick adjustments it can be assembled in both butterfly and pagoda styles. This versatility allows for a yo-yo that can perform yo-yo tricks better than any fixed axle yo-yo.
