Throw Revolution Gladius Yoyo

Historically, the gladius was a treasured sword in ancient Rome. Throw Revolution and World Champion Marcus Koh designed another gladius treasure with this throw. The Gladius yoyo was used in the 2016 Asian Pacific Yo-Yo Contest by Marcus Koh, and took second place.

The Gladius is a high-level competitive performance yoyo. This yoyo is machined from 7075 aluminum, a stronger and denser aluminum than the usual 6061. It’s a high-speed yoyo and plays fast. It is a bi-metal yoyo with stainless steel rings.

Here's the treasure in the design of the Gladius yoyo...the stainless steel rings are set in the sides of the body, not on the outer rims. This weight balance gives more control of the throw and gives the feeling of a light, controllable yoyo with strong, stable spins. Because the stainless steel rings are integrated into the body (not the outside rims) you get the feeling in play of a monometal yoyo.

This is a non-responsive yoyo, which means it will not wake to your hand with a tug of the string. A trick called a bind must be performed to wake the yoyo. This is an advanced level yoyo. If you do not know what a bind is, this is not the yoyo for you.
