With the Spin Control R yoyo, Yoyo King has created a metal, flared gap design that excels at string tricks that require precision and long spin time. Specifically, the Spin Control R has a lot of its weight near the outside edges, which helps stabilize the yoyo as it sleeps and also helps it sleep longer, due to the physics of rotational inertia. But even though there might be a lot of complex physics behind the design, you don't have to be a mathematical genius to appreciate it. For the yoyo player, it's as simple as throwing the yoyo down and feeling the difference.

IMPORTANT: The Spin Control R is a traditional type of yoyo that wakes up when you tug on the string. Yoyo King fine tuned the shape so that it has a smooth transition from a slightly angled outside edge to a steeper angle as it approaches the center. This shape and transition, combined with the aircraft grade 6061 aluminum construction of the halves, will give you the control and playability you are looking for as you attempt harder string tricks.

This is an aluminum yoyo that will help you raise your yoyo game to a new, higher level. It won't do the tricks for you. What yoyo does? But it will perform in a way that lets you forget about the limitations of the yoyo and concentrate completely on improving your skills and mastering the next trick.

Let's talk about the bearing for this yoyo. Yoyo King went with a narrow, flat C bearing that measures .250 x ..250 x .187. This gives the Spin Control R the best possible spin time, and just the right amount of responsiveness to let it wake up when you tug on the string, but to still excel at string tricks. But here's the cool part. If you install a wide C bearing, or a wide concave C bearing in the Spin Control R, you can turn the yoyo into a non-responsive yoyo that will require a bind to wake up. That means that later, if you keep working at your yoyo skills and become an advanced player, you can convert this yoyo into a non-responsive yoyo and use it that way. (If you don't know what non-responsive yoyoing is, or what binding is, then don't worry, because it won't be important to you!)

Each Spin Control R yoyo half starts as a piece of 6061 aluminum raw material that is placed into a high tech CNC machine. CNC stands for Computer Numerical Control. What it really means is that a computer guides and controls the manufacturing process in order to meet a level of quality that would not be possible if even the most skilled human were to try and operate the machine by hand. It takes approximately 3 minutes for the CNC machine to create a yoyo half from the raw material, cutting away the excess aluminum with a special cutting tool called a lathe. The machine itself is operated by someone with at least 3 years' worth of experience, to make sure that each yoyo half is precisely balanced and weighted so that it matches the other half and rotates smoothly.

After the raw aluminum yoyo half comes out of the CNC machine and is inspected for defects, it goes together with the other approved halves in a large batch. The halves are next run through another process where the aluminum parts are anodized. Anodization is a special electric treatment of aluminum that increases corrosion resistance and strength, while also adding color. Next, the yoyos are tested for quality control again, and are hand assembled and boxed.

And only after this entire process is the yoyo ready to sell to you. One area where you can see that Yoyo King has paid close attention to every detail is the inside of the yoyo. They printed Yoyo King underneath the silicone response system. In case you forget where it comes from when you take it apart to change a string and you are too lazy to turn it over and look on the outside, I guess. As you can see, this is a precision instrument. So take good care of it. Don't overtighten the halves and ruin it. Don’t misthread the axle. All high end yoyos require careful handling. There are two versions of the Yoyo King Spin Control yoyo. This one is the Spin Control R, which stands for responsive. Responsive means that it will wake up when you throw a sleeper and tug on the string. What are you waiting for? Add the Spin Control R to your cart right now and buy it, so you can start playing with it as soon as possible!

If you are buying a yoyo, don't forget to buy a yo-yo trick book to carry with you, a yoyo trick DVD for at home, and extra yoyo strings. Learning new tricks makes yoyoing much more fun, and you'll need extra strings, because they wear out with regular use.
